Natasha Trethewey

– piastowała przez dwie kadencje oficjalną funkcję poety-laureata Stanów Zjednoczonych (2012-2014). Jest autorką pięciu zbiorów poezji, w tym Native Guard (2006), który został uhonorowany nagrodą Pulitzera w 2007 roku. Otrzymała stypendia od Academy of American Poets, National Endowment for the Arts, Fundacji Guggenheima, Fundacji Rockefellera, Beinecke Library w Yale oraz Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study na Harvardzie. Jest też stypendystką American Academy of Arts and Sciences i American Academy of Arts and Letters. W 2017 roku zdobyła Heinz Award for Arts and Humanities. Od 2019 roku jest Kanclerzem Academy of American Poets, a w 2020 roku odebrała od Biblioteki Kongresu nagrodę Rebekah Johnson Bobbitt Prize in Poetry za całokształt twórczości.
